Educator Of The Year
Latest News: April 30, 2018
The District Superintendent of Schools in the Blaine, Ferndale, Lynden, Meridian and Nooksack Valley School Districts have selected a deserving educator to receive $500 awards. Presentations will be made at the May or June meeting of the Board of Directors of each School District who have graciously agreed to honor the awards in that venue.
Annual awards of $500.00 are made to the Outstanding Educator in three school districts. Nominations are made by peers of teachers, counselors, and administrators.
Lodge members work closely with the Superintendent at the Meridian School District, the Director of Human Resources at the Lynden School District and the Superintendent at the Blaine School District.
Each member of the Lodge Judging Committee rates every applicant for each school district. The combined scores by all the judges are determined to be the winners.
Letters of congratulations are written to the two winners. Letters of encouragement are written to all non-winners and include something specific about their particular achievements.
At the request of the Director of Human Resources at the Lynden School District, the presentation of the check and framed certificate by Lynden Lodge members are made at a surprise visit to the school in front of the winner's peers.
The presentation at the Meridian School District is made at Honors night at the end of May where parents of students, relatives, friends, teachers, counselors, principals and administrative staff all get a chance to see Masonry in action.
At the Blaine School District, the presentation is made at an assembly.
